Mount Rinjani National Park
The park covers an area of 41,330 ha on the northern part of Lombok. Named after Indonesia’s second highest volcanic peak outside of West Papua, the peak of Gunung Rinjani (3,726m) dominates the landscape. Within the crater is the spectacular Segara Anak lake and the still-active volcano Gunung Baru (2,363m). It is surrounded by a further 66,000 ha of Protection Forest and covers the four administrative district of West, East, north and Central Lombok. The park ecosystem is in the transitional zone between Asia and Australia (Wallace zone). Average rainfall is about 3,000 mm annually. Gunung Rinjani is rich in a variety of flora, fauna and vegetation types. On the south western side of the mountain is the most eastern extent of primary rainforest in Nusa Tenggara. This gives way to monsoon forest and drier climate in the east, and savannah in the north east. Notable flora includes the everlasting edelweiss flower (Anopheles viscid), tiger orchid (Vanda sp.), alang-alang grass (Imperata cylindrical), cemara trees (Casuarinas trifoliate and Casuarinas occidental).

Trip Plan: Sindang Gile and Tiu Kelep Waterfalls - Senaru Traditional Village - Bayan Traditional Village and Old Mosque
Sindang Gile and Tiu Kelep waterfalls are located in the foot of Rinjani mountain , Administratively, these waterfalls located in Senaru village, before we go to waterfalls, we have to buy entrance ticket. After that we can go on to Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep waterfalls,
Sendang Gile waterfall is closer to the entrance ticket of waterfall area. To get there, only take 20 minutes by foot. Because it closer to the entrance ticket, made it as the first visited by more visitors, either its foreign or domestic one, along the way to get these waterfalls we will enjoy the beautiful nature of protected forest which is part of Rinjani National Park, the stairs that we will allow to waterfall is very comfortable through small and big stones on it.
Tiu Kelep waterfall is second waterfall to get it; we have to spends times about 40 minutes by foot. The way to Tiu Kelep waterfall is very extreme so we have carefully pay attention from your guide because we will pass a quite sloping stairs and also shallow rivers with clear water as well. You will also pass a path which in each side is Small River with calm water.
DAY 1 AIRPORT – SENARU
After picking you up in airport, our guide will explain the program as well as the places visit Hiking activity to Sendand Gile Waterfall(if reachig early or have time at senaru village)
DAY 2 SENARU TREK CENTER – CRATER RIM 1 2641m
Register at the Rinjani Trek Center (RTC) in Senaru (601m) our guide arrange National Park entry ticket. The RTC staff briefing describes the route details, traditions and what you might see, and explains rubbish management and safety procedures. The first hours of the trek climb steeply through thick tropical forest rich in flora, bird life and variety of butterflies. You might see orchid and if lucky, the rare black ebony leaf monkey, known locally as lutung. Rest stops are taken along the way, and at pos 2 Montong Satas shelter ( 1,500m ). Village stories and local legends are related by your guide. Features include the Bayan tree Bunut Ngenkang that looks like someone standing with their legs apart, and the batu penyesalan stone. Depending on your temperance and weather conditions, the nigth’s camp is made either in the rim of senaru creater rim(2,600m) after about seven hours climb from Senaru,. Rinjani. Within the crater, Mt. Baru ( 2,351m) is an active, last erupting dramatically in 1994. On a clear evening the Gili Isles, Bali and Mt. Agung can be seen to the west will se 40% of lombok view
DAY 3 CRATER RIM 1 2641m – GILI TRAWANGAN
After breakfast and enjoying the view, descend down the trail down to Senaru village through first rocky and grassland then back into the shade of the tropical forest.parepare lunch break at way down, After about seven hours from the rim, the trek ends at Rinjani Trek Centre at the road head in Senaru.

We take a rest for 5/10 minute at Pos 1 ( pemantauan,) and then continue to Pos 2 (Tengengean) 1500 m walking time about 1 hour. Frequently Seen Attraction
1. Spring water

Found in south East Asia and across western Indonesia as far as Lombok this rare monkey "tracyphitecus auratus cristatus" is found in family groups in canopy of rainforests

Found throughout most of Indonesia "cervus timorensis" is are forest dweller that is occasionally seen along the rinjani trekking trails

Smaller than Rusa "muntiacus muntjak" is the other species of deer Found in the park It's alarm call is distinct dog like bark also found in the forest are the leopard cat,palm civet and porcurvine

Many of the forest-dwelleing animal insects,bird owe their survival to wild fig "ficus sp" as a provider of food and shelter.Bird and animals deposite the seeds of the strangling fig on a high branch where it germinates before connecting to the earth through a curtain of aerial roots that finally overwhelm the host tree

This pine-like species "casuarina junghuniana" is are feature of the grassy higher slopes where fire and volcanic eruptions have made the environment in hospitable for the broad leafed species of the rain forest

Found growing above the treeline the edelweis "anaphalis vescida" is are beautiful icon of the park and one of our best known sub alpine plants
Mt. Rinjani Ascent Routes
Serious trekkers should explore the options of staying on the mountain for 3 nights or more with a planned trek that takes in the crater rim, down to the lake shore, the absolute summit and more. Such treks normally start in either Senaru or Sambulan Lawang however in the last couple of years some other routes have opened including the Benang Stokel, Timbanuh and Torean routes.
Senaru ascent route
This is by far the most used route as it allows the (relatively) less strenuous trek to the crater rim only. You start at an elevation of 600 m in Senaru village, normally in the late morning or early afternoon and make the 6 hour ascent to the crater rim before dark. First part of the trek is through tropical rainforest. Look and listen out for the lutung, or black monkey, swinging through the trees in the late morning. They are extremely shy, unlike for the common macaques which may gather near rest stops waiting for scraps. The route passes through POSII at 1,500 m, breaches the treeline at 2,000 m (POSIII) and then it is a bit of slog up gravel paths to the camp site just below the crater rim at 2,600 m. There is no clear path at the last section nearing crater rim, at an incline of 45 degrees. There is a POS Extra after POS 3, but it is pretty much gone, and the remaining bits have been chopped up by porters as firewood.
If that has not sapped all of your energy you can then make a very precarious descent down to shores of the crater lake and bath in the hot waters. You need some confidence to do this as it is a steep descent of 600+ m using handrails and ropes.
